Clark IP Founder, David Clark, is a registered Australian and NZ Patent Attorney with 27 years experience working in private practice Intellectual Property. Having worked as an engineer and inventor, he brings a unique mix of practical experience and technical expertise to his patent, registered design, and trade mark practice.
David complements his patent expertise with a strong business acumen. Having successfully managed patent practices at a major first tier law firm and a significant IP firm, he is able to provide a product which is not only technically accurate but also commercially meaningful and relevant. This is achieved by listening to the client as the technology expert and working collaboratively to translate this information into quality work.

Patent and Trade Mark Attorney
Kathy is a Registered Australian Patent and Trade Mark Attorney, and a Registered New Zealand Patent Attorney, with over 25 years’ experience in Australian, New Zealand and foreign IP matters. She has worked in top tier patent attorney firms and in-house, and also tutored for the UTS Master of Intellectual Property course. Before entering the intellectual property field, Kathy worked as a laboratory chemist in pharmaceutical companies. She is highly skilled in all aspects of patents, including portfolio management, oppositions, infringement and validity advice, examination of cases in Australia and globally, specification drafting and prosecution, especially in the pharmaceutical, industrial and food chemistry fields. She also has experience in trade mark and design matters.
Qualifications: Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Analytical Science (analytical chemistry), Registered Australian Patent and Trade Mark Attorney, Registered New Zealand Patent Attorney.

Deborah has been in Senior IP support roles for over 18 years.
Deborah’s experience covers a range of administrative and paralegal tasks including preparing and filing patent, design and trade mark applications with IP Australia and IPONZ as well as preparing and filing international applications with the World Intellectual Property Organisation.
This work includes prosecution of patent, design and trade mark applications including preparing and filing requests for examination, transcription and submission of responses to examination reports with IP Australia; patent watching; monitoring and payment of renewals for Australian and overseas patents, designs and trade marks; managing our sophisticated IP docketing and document management system including policing of deadlines; maintenance of key client relationships; managing our accounting software including financial reporting, invoicing, and responsibility for collections.
